The face of the saddest boy ever
This was after daddy told him he was in the Christmas No Buy Zone. The Pokemon toy he saw was pretty cool.

Just a little post I like to call "The VA has killed my father in law"
My father in law finally was able to see an oncologist and his cancer has spread into his lymph nodes and his bones. He's been given a maximum of 6 months to live and was sent home with pain pills to keep him comfortable while he dies. Now, if the VA had run the tests it should have run LAST YEAR when he was complaining of not feeling well then the cancer could have been detected. But here we are, a year later and this time after they ran every test known to science, they know he has single cell lung cancer. WTF? How can the VA function when they are so incompetent? Being treated at the VA is like traveling back through time to the Medieval period and being treated by physicians by bleeding him into a bowl to cleanse his blood. I think a witch doctor could have done a better job. Am I angry? You bet!

Cutest cupcakes EVER!
My nephew's birthday party was a pajama party theme and these were the cupcakes. My sister in law did a fantastic job and I just had to take a picture. They're sleeping kids for the pajama theme and not dead babies (for you sickos out there). At first I thought their blankies were fondant but they're actually warmed up Starbursts that she rolled out flat then shaped into their blankets. So cute!!!

For those of you keeping track
Yes, I have a lot of pictures of Lexy on this blog. Kiernan is typically too cool to hang out with mom and would rather hang with his friends. I anticipate this will be the kid I have to drop off down the block so no one will see us together :) Lexy on the other hand is still firmly attached to my apron strings and at times is my conjoined twin. I will try harder to sneak a picture now and then.

Girls are brave. Boys are chicken.
We were running around for no reason on Friday and decided to go to Scheels over in Sparks. We figured we'd have to battle our way through giant crowds but it actually wasn't bad. Know what I didn't expect in a sporting store? A giant Ferris Wheel! Lexy and I got inside before the boys and bought 4 tokens for the wheel. Kiernan took one look at it and decided he wasn't going to have anything to do with it. I looked at him, "Really?" I thought he was kidding. But no, he didn't want to do it. Lexy was still game so we stood in line.
At some point Lexy saw Kiernan standing at the second floor balcony and yelled as loud as she could, "Kiernan! You're a big chicken! You're a chiiiiicken!!!!" He later said, "I am NOT a chicken. I just wasn't in the mood." That was such a peaceful ferris wheel ride and we had a beautiful view of the mountains.
She misses the spider car something terrible
We heard a terrible rumor that the spider car at the Wells overpass had been removed. I drove by a few weeks ago and it was still where it's been since I was a little girl. Today Lexy and I went to Carrows aka The Spider Car restaurant and it was GONE!
Lexy's "I'm mad the Spider Car is gone and I'm gonna kick someone's butt!" look.
Know what makes a case of the "Kick butts" go away? Ice cream of course. Here she's asking the waitress to add two cherries to her sundae.
She said she's bring TWO CHERRIES!
Spider Car? What Spider Car??

The day after Halloween sales!
I keep saying I'm going to go and hit up the day after Halloween sales but never do. I planned on going alone but both kids decided to come along. We all threw our clothes on and ventured out in the rain. Our first stop was the Spirit Store. I told the kids they could both get a costume for next year. I didn't get a picture of Kiernan in his because I wouldn't let him take it out of the bag (I know I'm mean but he wanted to take it next door to his friend's sleepover). Lexy couldn't make up her mind so I helped her make it up for her.
And here's Lexy at home in her costume. Please note the chain around her waist in the second shot with the wand by her head. She has been captured before the ball and held in chains against her will. But her face shows how brave she is.
So we bought strobe lights, more fog juice, skulls, goth boots and some other fun stuff. And I spent too much but Halloween is just too much fun!
Kiernan went trick or treating with the neighbors and Lexy and I went around the block. Mike dressed all in black with a half mask and claws and chased kids around the front yard. It was a most triumphant night.
