I'm about 2 seconds from becoming hysterical!

I just washed all ALL AAALLLL my belly dance laundry (save one pair of pants (red Melo sashes) that's in another bag--so not quite all) on cold about an hour ago. I just went to pull it all out to hang to dry in the bathroom. Here's how it goes:

Me: *enters the laundry room*

Sniff sniff!

*thinks to self---self why does it smell like bleach in the laundry room?*

*starts pulling laundry out of the washer*

I did mention it was all of my laundry save one pair of pants right?

I forgot...I put bleach in the load that I had run through early this morning. Those towels were a little musty and I thought they could use a little germ killing power.

That same germ killing power was still lurking in my washer!!!! BECAUSE I FORGOT BECAUSE IT WAS SO MUCH EARLIER IN THE DAY!!!

All my laundry...save one pair of pants.

There were a few shirts that miraculously didn't get any bleach on them. My pair of black minis...not a drop of bleach. My Suhaila scrunchy butts...no bleach. My fuschia garters...they look ok. However, my goddamned Melophoenix grey spirals are RUINED!! RUUUUINED!!!! Not even the little itty bitty tiny bleach spot that you can only see when you look close up. RUINED! As well as my Nigerian benefit mini skirt and sweatshirt from www.dontletmypeopledie.com The ones that took me damned near 6 weeks to get. The matching shirt has a few light spots that I'm not happy about but it will live. My Blind Divine t-shirt..dead. Most of my black pirate shirts...dead. My Suahaila skirt pants....dead. My goddamned SPIRALS! My favorite pair of pants in the entire world...dead. *sob*

Oh wait, I didn't wash my black cherry velvet Melos either because I only wear them for special occasions. My head is killing me. I need a drink bad but I have to wake up early and it won't happen if I drink. How bout I just cry myself to sleep?

What my parents got for my birthday

An amazon giftcard! I finally got around to spending it. I got:
The Ray Harryhausen Sinbad Collection which is "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad", "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad" and "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger." Another Ray Harryhausen classic, "Jason and the Argonauts", "Tribal Evolution" which is a DVD of Tribal Fusion belly dancers, a belly dance workout DVD by Asharah from Washington, DC and a Sisters of Mercy CD I got for Mike. I'm loving the Sinbads and Ray Harryhausen's special effects are awesome to watch in the era of slick CGI.

Golden Voyage of Sinbad

John Phillip Law died on the 15th of this month. I remember reading about it but now, after watching the Golden Voyage of Sinbad this morning (thanks Mom) I'm even more sad. He was the best Sinbad of the bunch. Yeah yeah, he wasn't the first Sinbad but he was the best!

From the Associated Press:
Actor John Phillip Law, angel in 'Barbarella,' dies at 70
May 15, 4:15 PM (ET) LOS ANGELES (AP) - John Phillip Law, the strikingly handsome 1960s movie actor who portrayed an angel in the futuristic "Barbarella" and a lovesick Russian seaman in "The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming," has died. He was 70. Law died Tuesday at his Los Angeles home, his former wife, Shawn Ryan, told the Los Angeles Times. The cause of death was not announced. With vivid eyes, blond hair and imposing physique, Law was much in demand by filmmakers in the late 1960s and early '70s. He gained wide notice in 1966 with Alan Arkin, Carl Reiner and Theo Bikel in "The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming," Norman Jewison's Cold War comedy in which a Soviet submarine runs aground off a peaceful New England island town. He played the sweet Russian youth who falls in love with a local American girl in the film, which was nominated for four Oscars including best picture, actor (Arkin) and director. French director Roger Vadim put Law's looks to good use in his 1968 science fiction film, "Barbarella," which starred Vadim's then-wife, Jane Fonda, as a sexy space traveler in the faraway future. Law wore wings to portray Pygar, a blind angel. "I've had more kicks out of playing far-out things," Law told the Los Angeles Times in 1966. "It's like putting on a funny face and going out in front of people and going, 'yaaaaaa.'" Messages left Thursday for Fonda's New York publicist were not immediately returned. Law was World War I ace Baron Manfred von Richtofen in the 1971 "The Red Baron" and Charlton Heston's son in "The Hawaiians," a 1970 sequel to "Hawaii," based on James Michener's sprawling novel "Hawaii." In Otto Preminger's 1967 film, "Hurry Sundown," he was a war veteran struggling to preserve his farm against a land speculator played by Michael Caine. Fonda played Caine's wife. He continued his career in a variety of U.S. and foreign films and television over the past 30 years, including appearances in "The Young and the Restless" and "Murder, She Wrote." Law was a California native, born in 1937 to actress Phyllis Sallee, and her husband, a police officer. He told the Los Angeles Times he did some extra work in films as a child. He said he put acting ambitions aside in his teens, but his interest was renewed in a college drama class. He worked in the theater in New York for a while before breaking into the movies, spending some time in the Repertory Theater of Lincoln Center, whose directors included the great Elia Kazan.

Momma and baby turtle

Huh?

The correspondent for the Today Show just said that they are pulling Live Survivors from the rubble a week after the earthquake in China. Live Survivors are the BEST! As opposed to the alternative-the dead survivors.

Olivia and Zzub at Manzanita Lake

The nest in our front yard

The babies were just born. Occasionally you can see their beaks up in the air while momma bird feeds them.

Hanging out at the Honor Court

She told me, "I'm going to graduate!" HOORAY!

It looks tense

But the panther really really really just wanted the goat's bucket. I don't think he really much cared about the goats at all.

He wanted to make sure I saw him

The Lord of the Peacocks wanted to make sure I saw him and strutted around the front yard. I'm assuming it was for my benefit as there weren't any female peacocks around.

Hey Baby!!

Seriously, that's what he kept saying to me. "Heeeey Baby!"

The Zoo's lawnmower

Lord of the Peacocks

He was acting quite regal and posed for long periods of time. He had the longest tail of all the males in the front yard.

"Precious"

We named the baby camel "Precious." Precious is Mike's girlfriend. She was kissing his face and nibbling on his beard.

Daddy! I want the camel to kiss ME

But Precious only had eyes for daddy

Yankees Rule!

The Yankees lost their first game tonight (which is not bad considering the season is more than halfway over). Kiernan played AWESOME!! The last hit he had was a double that brought two runners in.

Happy early Mother's Day to me

Both the kids gave me their Mother's Day projects from school early. Lexy made me a clay pumpkin with a card. On the card she has clearly written, "I love you" with an "A" at the bottom. Kiernan's card is super cute and written in neon yellow. It has all kinds of little pictures of us doing stuff together like walking and hugging. What's making me laugh is his coupon book. He gave me a "Happy Mother's Day Coupon Book." Here is what I am entitled to (he's written in the number of times on each page):
  • Redeem this coupon and I'll help in the kitchen 3,000 times.
  • Redeem this coupon and I'll clean my room 1 times.
  • Redeem this coupon and I'll take out the trash 1,000 times.
  • Redeem this coupon and I'll feed our pets 2,000 times.

Which one of these is not like the other? Which one of these is just not the same?
